With few days left in voting in Rajasthan assembly elections to be held on November 25, all political factions are on toes to emerge winner in the polls and political experts believe that be it extensively or partially , the results of Rajasthan polls are most likely to have far reaching implications on Haryana. . Apart from this, considering the caste factor, Jat stalwarts of Haryana are also putting their strength in the election campaign of their respective parties there. Apart from BJP and Congress in Rajasthan, all the parties are trying their best to woo the Jat vote bank of Haryana through Jat leaders.
On the other hand, all the parties of Haryana are also putting their efforts in the elections so that political mileage from the results of the election can be sought. Regarding this, leaders of all the political parties of Haryana have started campaigning in Rajasthan in a bid to ensure the party’s victory.
All the Jat leaders of JJP, which is an ally in power in Haryana with the saffron BJP , are putting their strength into the Rajasthan election campaign.Notably, the party is believed to have hold among the jat voters in Haryana as all 10 seats it won in the 2019 elections was due to the Jat vote bank. The party is contesting 25 seats in Rajasthan and the party stalwart Dushyant Chautal who holds the portfolio of the Deputy CM has been camping in Rajasthan along with his father Ajay Chautala for a long time in order to strengthen its position. Like Haryana, Dushyant Chautala’s JJP is hopeful of a miracle in Rajasthan politics too. It is noteworthy that his great grandfather Late Chaudhary Devi Lal , former Deputy Prime Minister, was an MP from Sikar in 1989. While being an MP, he also held the chair of Lok Sabha speaker and the Union Agriculture Minister. His father and JJP President Ajay Singh Chautala started his political innings from there and was elected MLA from Data Ramgarh and Nohar seats. Dushyant’s brother Digvijay Singh Chautala and his Naina Chautala are also continuously putting their efforts in the election campaign. The Haryana BJP also has fielded Jaat stalwarts for campaigning in Rajasthan polls and among them names of Captain Abhimanyu, OP Dhankhar and Mahipal Dandha are in the list.Haryana Congress, has fielded Jat stalwarts to campaign in the Rajasthan elections. Bhupendra Hooda was to participate in the election campaign in Rajasthan but due to some reasons, it has been rescheduled. According to the information received, he will now campaign in Rajasthan between 21st and 23rd November. It is a noticeable fact that Hooda has a strong hold among the Jats in Haryana which may benefit the party in the polls. In such a situation, Congress would like to gain political mileage in Rajasthan also. Apart from him, the party has fielded another political veteran Kiran Choudhary for the election campaign and given the responsibility of coordinator there.
Jat community has sizable political interference in Rajasthan. Estimatedly, the Jat vote bank in the state is considered to be around 12 to 15 percent and in wake of this, no party seems in a position to neglect the Jat voters. It is believed that Jat voters ignore all political equations staying united in polls while casting their franchise . Jat voters influence the politics there on a large scale. Apart from this, the Jat community is pretty influential in Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Nagaur and Jodhpur areas on which all the parties keep an eye. Besides, the Jat community is in a position to effect the polls in the Bharatpur, Hanumangarh, Ganganagar, Bikane, Jaipur, Chittorgarh, Barmer, Tonk and Ajmer districts of the state, It is worth noting that there are a total of 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan. Of these, 142 seats have been reserved for general, 33 seats for Scheduled Caste and 25 seats for Scheduled Tribe category. Keeping in view the caste equations, in ticket distribution, maximum importance is given to Jats among OBCs and they are given the maximum number of tickets.
