In a proactive operation, Indian security forces thwarted an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector, resulting in the elimination of one terrorist. The attempt was made by terrorists exploiting poor visibility and adverse weather conditions.

Officials reported that the ongoing operation is a testament to the heightened alertness and preparedness of the security troops. Last month, a similar effort was successfully countered in the Uri sector, where two terrorists were neutralized.

The Army, acting on intelligence inputs and collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police, had strengthened the counter-infiltration grid in anticipation of such activities. The recent operation unfolded amidst challenging weather conditions, characterized by continuous rainfall and limited visibility.

The encounter with the infiltrating group led to a significant exchange of gunfire, culminating in the elimination of one terrorist. The recovered items from the site included six pistols, four Chinese grenades, blankets, and two bags containing Pakistani and Indian currency notes, along with Pakistani medicines and eatables. The success of these operations underscores the commitment of security forces to maintaining the integrity and security of the region.
