As anticipation builds for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Jammu and Kashmir, security measures have been significantly tightened across the region. The J&K administration has declared the Jammu division as a ‘no drone zone’ in preparation for the Prime Minister’s one-day visit to Jammu on February 20.

In a directive issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, District Jammu has been designated as a “no drone zone” from February 19, 1800 hours, until February 20, 2300 hours. This decision, made under section 22(2) of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s Drone Rules 2021, underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the visit.

With Rule 49 of the Drone Rules 2021 empowering law enforcement to address contraventions, including Rule 22 and Rule 27, stringent measures have been put in place to prevent unauthorized drone activity. Additionally, security forces have been bolstered across the division, with strict instructions issued to ensure heightened vigilance.
Furthermore, Traffic Police Jammu City has issued a detailed advisory for the general public intending to participate in the rally to be held at Moulana Azad Stadium in Jammu tomorrow. Attendees are advised on entry points based on their respective districts of origin, with stringent security checks and parking regulations in place.

To facilitate smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience, a dry run will be conducted on February 19, resulting in temporary diversions and restrictions. Vehicle movements will be redirected to alternative routes, with the public urged to cooperate with authorities and utilize designated bridges for North to South travel.

As the region prepares for the Prime Minister’s visit and associated events, including development project inaugurations, these security measures highlight the administration’s proactive approach to ensuring public safety and maintaining order. Citizens are encouraged to adhere to the provided guidelines and avail of assistance from the Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Jammu for any traffic-related queries or concerns.
