Ahead of Independence Day celebrations in Delhi, the Delhi Police Special Cell has apprehended Rizwan Ali, an ISIS module terrorist, according to an official statement. Rizwan, a resident of Daryaganj in Delhi, had a bounty of Rs 3 lakh on his head, announced by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) due to his involvement in terror activities. He was part of the ISIS Pune Module and had been on the run. Authorities are now investigating his presence in the capital ahead of the national celebrations.

“ISIS module terrorist identified as Rizwan Ali has been arrested. NIA had declared a bounty of Rs 3 lakh on him. Rizwan is a resident of Daryaganj, Delhi,” stated the Special Cell of Delhi Police. The NIA had previously released Rizwan Ali’s photograph alongside other absconding individuals linked to terrorism.

In response to the upcoming Independence Day, Delhi Police heightened security measures and placed posters of various terrorists associated with Al Qaeda and Khalistan across the city. The public is encouraged to assist in capturing these terrorists, with promises of suitable rewards for information, while ensuring the anonymity of informants. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to raise awareness and track down these wanted individuals.

Additionally, the Punjab Police have intensified security across the state, conducting spot searches at bus stands. This Cordon and Search Operation was executed simultaneously in all 28 police districts, involving police teams and sniffer dogs to frisk people at bus stands. These measures aim to ensure national security ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
