ISI plotting major terror attack in Punjab, Gujarat, home ministry alerted

Intel report says that Pakistan is now focusing on Punjab and Gujarat borders to smuggle weapons and narcotics and sneak in their operatives to unleash terror and violence in India.

Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI is planning to send weapons and narcotics with the help of drones through its border with Punjab and Gujarat, Indian intelligence agencies have alerted. Sending a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the intelligence agencies have also sounded alert saying that the ISI is plotting a major attack in Punjab and Gujarat. It is also trying to infiltrate terrorists into India, the report added.

In the last four months, Pakistan has made a big change in its strategy to continue spreading unrest in India. The neighbouring country has chosen India-Pakistan international border in Punjab and Gujarat through which it is sending drones, smuggling narcotics and sending their operatives.

Earlier, Pakistani terrorists had infiltrated into the Bamiyal Sector of Pathankot, Punjab and attacked the Air Force base there. Pakistan has been consistently using the Punjab border to smuggle weapons for the past two years . A top-level intelligence agency official told The Daily Guardian that Pakistan has been facing a lot of trouble on the Jammu and Kashmir border. That is the reason why it has chosen the path of Punjab and Gujarat.

According to information provided by the BSF, the forces have foiled several bids by terrorists in the last four months. A Pakistani national tried to infiltrate through the Amritsar sector and was neutralised by the force. On 28 July, two to three Pakistani nationals tried to enter through the Gurdaspur sector but fled after retaliation by Indian security forces. Similarly, on 8 August, a Pakistani citizen tried to infiltrate through the Barmer Sector and was neutralised. Just 13 days later, 5 individuals tried to enter through Ferozepur and were killed. All four of these attempts were made during the night. The efforts show that Pakistan has tried to take advantage of its border with these Indian states and wherever it sees an opportunity, it tries to take advantage. An MHA official told TDG that they had reports which said that weapons were delivered in Punjab by drones at least 10 times last year from across the border. The NIA is investigating the case.

Four pro-Khalistani terrorists were also recently arrested from Chola Sahib of Tarn Taran. The terrorists were part of the Khalistan Zindabad Force and had been helped by the organisations in Pakistan and Germany. Intelligence agencies have alerted the BSF, Gujarat Police and Punjab Police to be vigilant as ISI is trying to send infiltrators across the border with either of the two states ever since Kashmir has become a difficult option for Pakistan.
