The formidable unbeaten 121-run partnership between Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel propelled Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a commanding 7-wicket triumph over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday. RR’s skipper Samson led the charge with an impressive 71 off 33 balls, while Jurel contributed a quickfire 52 off 34 deliveries.
Despite LSG’s efforts, including missed opportunities in the field, RR chased down the target of 197 with authority. Opening batsmen Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler set the tone with a strong start, although Buttler fell early to Yash Thakur’s pace. Despite some setbacks, RR’s middle order, led by Samson and Jurel, maintained composure and aggression to secure a convincing victory.
Earlier, LSG posted a competitive total of 196/5, buoyed by KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda’s stellar fifties. However, RR’s bowlers, particularly Sandeep Sharma, made crucial breakthroughs to limit LSG’s innings. With this win, RR showcased their batting prowess and solidified their position in the tournament.
