The Gujarat Titans (GT) will play against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 44th match of the IPL 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday, May 2.
So far, both teams’ campaigns have been diametrically opposed. While GT leads the IPL 2023 points table with six wins from eight games, DC is last in the standings. The Capitals have won two of their first eight games.
GT enter the game fresh off a thrilling win over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. The defending champions chased down 180 runs with 13 balls to spare, thanks to Vijay Shankar’s unbeaten 24-ball 51.
GT will look to secure their fourth consecutive victory and consolidate their lead at the top of the points table when they return to familiar territory.
The Capitals, on the other hand, were defeated by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their most recent game after winning two in a row. DC fell nine runs short of a 198-run total after another poor performance from their misfiring middle order.
Delhi would like their players, including captain David Warner, to step up and help them get back on track. The batting-friendly conditions in Ahmedabad may suit Warner’s game as DC looks to get back on track.
