The Delhi Police has formed an inquiry team to look into a complaint of sexual harassment case against a Senior officer filed by woman Assistant Sub Inspector, sources said. It has been reported that a woman ASI filed a complaint last month stating that a Special Commissioner Rank officer had assaulted her in his office. According to sources, the Delhi Police has also established “An inquiry committee has also been set up by Delhi Police to investigate the allegations of sexual harassment of Woman ASI” According to the sources, the investigation is ongoing, and the committee will present a report based on the findings. In September last year, a Mumbai cop was arrested for allegedly harassing and sending obscene messages to a woman police officer. Deepak Deshmukh, the accused perpetrator, was being held for harassing the woman who was working as a sub-inspector at Kurar Police Station. Deshmukh was angry as felt that he was transferred due to the woman cop. He began to send her vulgar messages. The woman filed a complaint after the accused allegedly threatened her and verbally harassed her.
Based on the complaint, Kurar police booked Deshmukh under Sections 354, 354 (D), and 509 of the IPC for outraging the modesty of a woman.
