The Haryana Amateur Wrestling Association (HAWA) is witnessing a heated conflict between its President, Rohtash Singh, and General Secretary, Rakesh Singh, as tensions escalate over the suspension of three district unit secretaries.
The secretaries, Virender Singh Dalal, Sanjay Singh Malik, and Jai Bhagwan, were suspended for their alleged involvement in the ongoing protests against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
HAWA president Rohtash Singh deemed their participation in the demonstrations at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, as “unethical.” In response, Rakesh Singh dismissed the suspension as unauthorised and advised the secretaries to continue their duties. He criticised Rohtash Singh for his unilateral decision-making and asserted that any official correspondence must be signed by both the President and General Secretary.
In a letter to the WFI chief, Rakesh Singh accused Rohtash Singh of misusing his power and engaging in dirty politics. He expressed his willingness to resign from his position if the WFI President demanded it, citing the increasingly difficult work environment created by Rohtash Singh.
