‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’, the victory flame, after traveling the length and breadth of the country, reached Jamnagar. The Swarnim Vijay Mashal started its journey from National War Memorial at Delhi on 16th December 2020 to celebrate 50 years of India’s glorious victory in the India-Pak war of 1971. The journey of the victory flame will conclude at War Memorial Delhi on 16th December 2021, which is also celebrated annually as ‘Vijay Divas’.The Swarnim Vijay Mashal was received at Indian Naval Ship (INS) Valsura. Officers, sailors and young children of INS Valsura greeted the victory flame with ethusiasm.On this occasion, Commodore Gautam Marwaha, VSM, Commanding Officer, INS Valsura felicitated the war veterans and a wreath was laid at the Valsura War Memorial to commemorate the sacrifice of our gallant personnel of the armed forces.
Swarnim Vijay Varsh was celebrated at Air Force Station Jamnagar on Saturday & Sunday to commemorate 50 years of 1971 India-Pak War. ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh Victory Flame’ was received at Station Museum by Air Commodore MS Deswal, Vayu Sena Medal, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jamnagar and Air Commodore (Retired) SS Tyagi, Vayu Sena Medal, senior most War Veteran at Jamnagar. A two minutes silence was observed for the martyrs and the ‘Victory Flame’ was forwarded to INS Valsura. Display of dummy missile systems was organized at Air Force Station Jamnagar on the occasion. A fly past was performed by three helicopters and slithering operations were also demonstrated by IAF Garud Commanders.
