INLD Principal General Secretary and MLA Abhay Chautala said regarding SYL that if INLD forms the government in Haryana, they will bring water from SYL by putting pressure on the Central and Punjab governments.
“If the state’s water is blocked then we will block the routes to Punjab, if any route is blocked then we will block the water to Delhi also. The Congress and BJP governments have only served their interests in the name of SYL in the name of politics. The present government in Haryana will not be able to bring SYL water, I am giving this in writing,” said Abhay Chautala.
INLD MLA Abhay Chautala met the former chairman in Charkhi Dadri on Sunday. Abhay Chautala said that with the public support for Parivartan Yatra and Devi Lal Jayanti, the way has been cleared for INLD to form the government. Now INLD will contest elections on all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. INLD’s support base is continuously increasing. Abhay described the 9 years of the government as a reign of scams. Abhay Chautala said that the Chief Minister makes announcements only for show. “Discrimination was done in increasing the salary of the chairman of Zilla Parishad and civic bodies. Along with the District Council, the village Panchayats should also get full respect”, he said. Taking a dig at JJP, he said that since their existence in Haryana ended, they have now fled towards Rajasthan to find a new place.
Earlier, MLA Chautala sent a letter to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) dispute between Haryana and Punjab. In this, he has asked the CM to call an all-party meeting and a special session of the Assembly to resolve this issue. He also stated that Haryana is united on this issue, and this message should also be given to the neighbouring states.
He had urged that an all-party delegation should immediately request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene on the SYL issue. “Haryana needs to be united regarding the issue of SYL which has always been important for Haryana. To convey this message, the Chief Minister of Haryana should immediately call a special session of the Assembly. Through this session, a strong message can be given to the neighbouring state of Punjab and the Central Government regarding the construction of the canal,” he said.
