Mount Ruang in Indonesia erupted for the second time this month, which is located in the North Sulawesi province at the local time of 1:15 am on Tuesday.

As per the footage shared by the Indonesia disaster agency, strikes of lightning flashed above the Ruang crater with red clouds of lava and rocks being projected into the air and later it rained down around the island.

Thus, prompting the authorities to raise alert status and undertake the evacuation of more than 12,000 people, who live on the nearby island.

According to Indonesia’s disaster mitigation agency, it has revealed that all 843 residents of Ruang island have moved to Manado, which is the capital of North Sulawesi province. people of nearby Tagulandang island too have been relocated to Siau island to the north.

When the volcano erupted, the authorities ordered the closure of the nearby airport. The officials of Sam Ratulangi International Airport also announced that they had shut down operations because of reduced visibility and the danger posed to plane engines by volcanic ash.

Furthermore, Indonesia’s geological agency has urged residents living within a six-kilometer radius to evacuate.

Earlier too, Indonesia issued tsunami alert after volcano eruption. Which lead to the evacuation of more than 11000 people.

Fearing the collapse into the sea, the Indonesian authorities ordered evacuation of people after multiple eruptions.
