IndiGo has unveiled 11 fresh connections as part of its expanded codeshare agreement with Australia’s national carrier, Qantas Airways, commencing from March 31, 2024. Ticket sales commenced on March 12, 2024, enabling IndiGo customers to traverse major tourist and economic centers in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast, and Perth.

These additional codeshare connections allow travelers to seamlessly continue their journey within Australia on Qantas-operated domestic flights, extending to three more cities: Adelaide, Canberra, and Gold Coast. This offers Indian tourists, as well as business and leisure travelers, a broader array of options for exploring Australian destinations, particularly during the forthcoming summer season. IndiGo presently provides travel alternatives to Singapore and seamless connectivity to Qantas’ flights between Singapore and Australia.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm about the new connections within Australia, in partnership with Qantas. He remarked, “Under this codeshare, our passengers can not only travel to Melbourne, Sydney, Perth & Brisbane via Singapore, but also onwards to Adelaide, Canberra & the Gold Coast.” Malhotra emphasized IndiGo’s dedication to delivering affordable, punctual, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences across an extensive network, affirming the carrier’s position as India’s foremost airline.

The collaboration between the two airlines, both market leaders in their respective countries, underscores the burgeoning ties between Australia and India within the framework of the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement. In 2022, Qantas and IndiGo solidified a codeshare partnership enabling Qantas customers on non-stop flights between Australia and India to connect to 21 destinations in India via IndiGo. Furthermore, in November 2023, IndiGo unveiled connections to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane in Australia, as part of the ongoing codeshare collaboration with Qantas Airways.
