An onboard medical emergency caused an Indigo flight from Mumbai to Ranchi to be diverted to Nagpur, according to officials. Officials claim that a sick passenger on the flight caused the crew to divert the plane.
The IndiGo flight — 6E 5093 — touched down at Nagpur.
Officials said that the passenger was offloaded and taken to a nearby hospital for additional medical care; they also said that he did not survive.
“Unfortunately, the passenger did not survive. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones,” the carrier said in a statement.
