Canadian police have arrested an Indian national accused of allegedly groping at least twelve minors under the age of sixteen. The individual’s name has not been released, but it is known that he holds an Indian passport.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 7, at Magic Mountain, a popular waterpark in Moncton City, New Brunswick. According to reports from Canadian media outlet The Publica and a statement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the 25-year-old suspect, who resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia, was apprehended at the waterpark.

Initial reports indicate that police were informed of a man groping people at the waterpark. The man was arrested at the scene but was later released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 24, facing charges of sexual harassment and sexual interference. Under Canadian law, sexual interference involves the sexual touching of minors under the age of sixteen.

“This is still an active investigation, and we are working diligently to understand if there were other victims. We are asking parents to speak to their children if they attended this location on July 7. We also want people to know that a sexual assault complaint can be made at any time,” said Sergeant Sylvette Herbert of Codiac Regional RCMP, as quoted by The Publica.

Sergeant Herbert further emphasized, “If you are a victim of sexual misconduct, please contact us. You will be listened to, and you will be believed.”

The incident has garnered significant attention, especially after a local resident, Alicia Hill, posted a warning on Facebook. Hill urged community members to be vigilant, claiming that a man was “swimming around, touching everyone,” including children, at the waterpark. She estimated that around “30 or more people and kids” were groped.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to identify any additional victims and ensure justice is served.
