Jairam Ramesh is a passionate football fan. Tulsidas Balaram, a legendary Bengal football player, died recently. Nobody knew that Congress Party Media Chairman Jairam Ramesh was a fan of Balaram. He was telling some journalists that during his childhood he was a keen follower of legends of Indian football who represented India in Olympic. P K Banerjee, Chuni Goswami, and lastly Balaram passed away in a short span of time. Jairam was surprised to learn that former Congress President Sonia Gnadhi is also a football fan. He could not believe that Mrs Gandhi was aware of the deaths of footballers. TMC MP Prasun Banerjee, who was captain of Indian football team, regularly informs Mrs Gandhi on football matters. Perhaps he was the one who informed Mrs. Gandhi about the footballers› deaths.
