After heavy rain, hail, and thunderstorms battered much of the region on Tuesday, authorities in the United Arab Emirates have advised citizens to stay indoors.

According to today’s Khaleej Times report, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has advised inhabitants of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah to brace themselves for unpredictable weather conditions over the next 48 hours. Heavy rainfall is predicted in these locations through Wednesday.

The weather department predicted that convective clouds, which bring rain and lightning, will form over coastal areas, especially in the north and east of the nation. On Monday night, heavy to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning were observed throughout the United Arab Emirates. Adverse weather conditions are expected to continue into Wednesday morning.
