In a momentous celebration of the 75th Republic Day, the Indian Army orchestrated a transformative event at the serene Pir Topa village in Poonch. The festivities not only marked the joyous occasion but also strengthened the bond between the Army and the village residents, fostering a sense of pride, patriotism, and mutual respect. The event aimed at ushering in peace, harmony, and development into the remote hamlet, envisioning Pir Topa as a Model Village.
The celebration kicked off with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the felicitation of village elders who were honoured with shawls and blankets as a gesture of respect. The Indian Army’s commitment to uplifting educational standards was evident through the upgradation of facilities at the local primary school in Pir Topa. The Army provided class furniture, books, and stationary, contributing to the educational well-being of the students.
In a bid to brighten both the village and its residents’ aspirations, the Indian Army inaugurated 25 Solar Street Lights, signifying a step towards the transformation of Pir Topa into a Model Village. Recognizing the importance of quality healthcare, the Army equipped the village health center with medical facilities and essential medicines, ensuring timely access to medical services. The event concluded with a medical camp, reflecting the Army’s holistic approach to the well-being and welfare of the residents.
Beyond emphasizing unity and national integration, the event underscored the pivotal role played by the Indian Army in maintaining peace and harmony. The welfare initiatives received widespread appreciation, reinforcing a robust military-civil bond and cultivating trust between the Jawan and Awam, especially in the challenging terrain of remote areas.
