Worli Hit And Run Case : Accused Consumed Excessive Alcohol Before Incident

The primary suspect in the Worli hit-and-run case, Mihir Shah, had consumed a significant amount of alcohol at two different locations on the night of the incident, according to Mumbai police sources on Thursday.

During the investigation, Mumbai police discovered that Mihir Shah had been drinking before the incident, having consumed alcohol at two separate places. “The investigation revealed that the accused drank alcohol at Vice Global Tapas Bar in the Juhu area and then at another location between Malad and Borivali,” stated the police.

The police interrogation of the accused driver, Rajrishi Rajendra Singh Bidawat, revealed that they had visited Marine Drive because the incident occurred on a Sunday. Rajrishi had driven the car from Borivali to Marine Drive, but once there, Mihir had forcibly taken the car keys to drive near Girgaon Chowpatty.

Earlier in the day, both suspects in the Worli hit-and-run case reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime and are currently in the custody of the Mumbai police. During their interrogation, both Mihir Shah and his driver Rajrishi Bidawat admitted their roles, and the police recreated the scene of the accident, tracing the route from CJ House Worli to Sea Link Worli.

A Mumbai court had earlier sent Mihir Shah to police custody until July 16. Shah was arrested in Virar on Tuesday and brought to Sewri court in Mumbai on Wednesday. He had been on the run after allegedly driving the car that hit a scooter on Dr. Annie Besant Road in Worli on Sunday, July 7. Fourteen police teams were formed to apprehend him. Rajrishi Singh Bidawat and Mihir’s father, Rajesh Shah, were also arrested for their alleged involvement in the case.

Following the incident, the deceased woman’s husband, Pradeep Nakhwa, criticized the delay in arresting the accused, claiming that his wife had been dragged from Ceejay House to Sea Link Road. He alleged that political connections were causing the delay, as the accused was the son of a political leader.
