UP: Yogi govt to conduct exams from Sept 11-16 to evaluate children’s learning progress

From September 11 to September 16, the Yogi government will hold the Nipun Assessment Test (NAT), in which students in grades one through five will be evaluated in the subjects of language and mathematics. Students from classes 6 to 8 will be evaluated on their knowledge of mathematics and science in order to ensure that the “Nipun Bharat Mission” is carried out effectively.

Notably, examinations will be conducted through ‘Saral App’ and for the first time, children will answer questions on the OMR sheet.
Instructions have been issued to BSA and DIET principals of all the districts to conduct the test (NAT) in a transparent and fair manner. Teachers have also been asked to ensure 100 per cent attendance of students through community participation and home visits.
A student’s data through an OMR sheet will be scanned by the teacher through the ‘Saral App’ after the assessment is completed. OMR sheet will be filled with black ball pens only.

The children in classes four through eight will be able to purchase pens for up to Rs 5 each by using a composite grant. The report cards will be created and then given to each student after the examination papers have been evaluated, the release stated. Development block-wise flying squads have been established for a fair and transparent assessment process, and district-level officers from the Basic Education department and other departments have been instructed to supervise and ensure cross-vigilance. The district project offices have established control rooms for examinations. The exam will last up to one hour and thirty minutes.

After the examination, the scanning process will be completed by the teachers within one hour. This time period can be determined according to the number of children.
