After recovering from a leg injury and completing a religious punishment imposed by the Akal Takht, Sukhbir Singh Badal has returned to the political arena. During preparations for the political conference at the Maghi Mela, he launched sharp attacks on his opponents, targeting Congress leader Raja Warring for his recent statements against the Akal Takht-appointed Jathedars.
Urging Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) workers to participate in large numbers, Sukhbir emphasized the importance of wholeheartedly attending the upcoming conference.

He asserted, “SAD is not finished; it was merely resting. Now, it has awakened. SAD is a party dedicated to serving the Guru’s house, and any statements against it are mere politics.”
Sukhbir alleged that a conspiracy was hatched to weaken the SAD by leveling baseless accusations, including those related to sacrilege. “To put an end to the entire controversy, I took all the blame upon myself. However, SAD can never even think of committing such acts,” he declared.

Without naming separatist MP Amritpal, Sukhbir took a dig by referencing his father, former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, saying, “Parkash Singh Badal served 16 years in jail, while here, people are crying out after just one year.” He also criticized Faridkot MP Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, accusing him of failing to advocate for Sikh rights since being elected. “He hasn’t even been present during anyone’s moments of happiness or sorrow,” Sukhbir remarked, further questioning Khalsa’s commitment to his constituents.
