A heartfelt tribute was paid by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday to those who lost their lives in the Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks.

Taking to Twitter Amit Shah tweeted, “I pay my heartfelt tributes to those who lost their lives in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and remember and salute our brave security personnel who made the supreme sacrifice fighting the terrorists. Today gives a message to the whole world to fight unitedly against terrorism.”

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to the people who lost their lives on the 14th anniversary of the Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks.

“On the anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai, I salute the memory of all those who lost their lives in this incident. My heartfelt tributes to the security personnel who sacrificed their lives while fighting this attack. This country has not forgotten the incident of 26/11, nor will it ever forget,” Singh said.

Remembering all those who lost their lives in the dastardly terror attack Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The cowardly terror attack in Mumbai on this day 14 years ago snuffed out several innocent lives. Remembering all those who lost their lives in the dastardly terror attack and the sheer valor of our security forces who saved countless lives. The nation is indebted to their sacrifice.”

In the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, many people lost their lives. At least 174 people and 300 people were injured. In the attack, people died including 20 security force personnel and 26 foreign nationals.

Meanwhile, the attack was placed by the 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba Pakistani terrorists who came to Mumbai via sea route from Pakistan.

The major spots of Mumbai were targeted by the terrorists with the first attack taking place at the crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station. The attack at the station was carried out by Ajmal Amir Kasab and Ismail Khan in which 58 people died and over 100 people were injured.

Kasab and Khan later entered to attack Cama Hospital, but due to the alertness of the hospital staff they thwarted but end up killing 6 police officers.

Moreover, the terrorist attacked the Nariman House business and residential complex. Then the terrorist attacked Leopold Cafe followed by Taj Mahal Hotel and Tower where 31 people were killed by the terrorist.

However, two terrorists entered the Oberoi-Trident hotel and four entered the Taj on 29 November 2008 National Security Guards (NSG) secured the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. After which over 160 people were killed and hundreds were left injured.

Furthermore, 9 terrorists were killed and Ajmal Amir Kasab was caught and in 2012 in Pune was sentenced to death at Yerwada Central Jail. It was believed Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD), whose mastermind was Hafiz Saeed, was behind the attack.
