Saini calls AAP’s bluff, drinks water from Yamuna

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has strongly condemned former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for his “irresponsible and misleading” statement about Yamuna’s water quality. He demanded that Kejriwal apologise to the people of Haryana and Delhi for spreading fear for political gains.

Saini visited Point No. 4 of the Yamuna River near Dahisara village at the Delhi-Haryana border, performed prayers, and drank the river water himself to prove its purity. He dismissed Kejriwal’s allegations that Haryana was sending toxic water to Delhi, citing Water Authority of India reports showing no harmful substances in Yamuna’s water before it enters Delhi.

The CM accused Kejriwal of failing to clean the Yamuna despite receiving Rs 8,500 crore from the central government for sewage treatment and water purification. He questioned the lack of accountability for the funds, highlighting that Delhi’s untreated sewage worsens Yamuna’s condition when it re-enters Haryana.

Saini further criticized Kejriwal for breaking promises made 10 years ago about cleaning the river. He said that instead of taking responsibility, Kejriwal repeatedly blames Haryana for various issues, including water pollution and stubble burning, without evidence.

Test reports from multiple dates confirm that Yamuna’s water was clean at Haryana’s border. Calling Kejriwal’s claims false and politically motivated, Saini reiterated that the former Delhi CM should apologize for misleading the public.
