Simran Singh, a well-known freelance radio jockey and social media influencer from Jammu and Kashmir, was reportedly found dead in her rented apartment in Sector 47, Gurugram. According to PTI, the 25-year-old’s death is being considered a suspected suicide, as police found her body hanging in her room on Wednesday night (December 25). No suicide note was reportedly found at the place, officials told the media.
Simran, widely regarded as “Jammu Ki Dhadkan” (Heartbeat of Jammu), had amassed a substantial following on Instagram, boasting over six lakh followers. She was celebrated for her captivating radio presence and substantial influence online.

The tragic incident has caused an outburst of grief among her fans and the Jammu and Kashmir community. Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed their condolence on Simran’s untimely death.
Simran’s voice and charisma were a reflection of Jammu and Kashmir’s vibrant spirit,” said a post on JKNC’s official X, formerly Twitter profile. “Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to Simran’s family, friends, and admirers while praying for her soul to find peace and for strength for her loved ones during this tragic period.
The leaders also acknowledged the fact that Simran had contributed to the cultural identity of Jammu and Kashmir. They promised to remember her legacy. According to the reports, police have already returned Simran’s body to her family as the inquiries are in process. Her sudden death has created a void in the hearts of her supporters and followers.
