Rajasthan’s Kolihan Mine Collapse: 14 Officials Of Hindustan Copper Limited Rescued

As a part of the overnight rescue operation. The fourteen officials of Hindustan Copper Limited, who were trapped inside the Kolihan mine in Neem ka Thana district, were rescued by relief teams this Wednesday morning.

According to Dr. Mahendra Singh, who was the part of medical team on site revealed, that all of them have been rescued. Out of 15, three have been sent to the hospital and have sustained fractures.

This rescue operation took place overnight with multiple ambulance and medical teams on site. The three injured personnel are in a serious condition, as a result, they are now undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jaipur.

As further revealed by the officials, the rescue operation took place through the manual use of ladder and the lift.

Later, the nursing staff of Jhunjhunu Government Hospital, Shishram disclosed to ANI, that some people have suffered fractures in hands and some in legs. But fortunately, all of them are safe.

Meanwhile some of the trapped officials were identified as Chief Vigilance Officer Upendra Pandey, GD Gupta of Khetri Copper Complex (KCC) unit head and Kolihan Mine’s Deputy General Manager AK Sharma and journalist, Vikas Pareek, who entered as a photographer with the vigilance team.

What Exactly Happened? 

On Tuesday night, the vertical shaft carrying 15 PSU Hindustan Copper Limited officials got collapsed.

It is said that the life crashed at more than 1,800 feet inside the mine. The cause of this incident is primarily pointed towards breaking of rope, which supported the lift.

Later, after learning about this information, medical officials and ambulances managed to reach on site, at the nick of the time, to prepare for the emergency situation.

Earlier, BJP MLA Dharmpal Gurjar too reached the site at night, to examine the situation.
