Pushpa 2 Stampede Case: Hyderabad Police Summon Allu Arjun For Questioning

Actor Allu Arjun, known for his role in Pushpa 2, has been summoned by the Hyderabad Police for questioning tomorrow in connection with the December 4 theatre stampede case. The actor, who is currently out on bail, had spent a night in jail earlier this month.

The tragic stampede during a screening of Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad claimed the life of a woman and left her son critically injured. The police have directed Allu Arjun to appear at Chikkadpally police station at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Following this development, his legal team visited his residence this evening to discuss the situation.

The actor, along with the theatre management and his team, has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 and sent to 14-day judicial custody by a city court. However, the Telangana High Court granted him four weeks of interim bail on the same day.

The fresh notice comes amid reports that the Hyderabad Police plan to approach the high court to cancel his interim bail. Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand stated on Sunday that the police would determine their next steps after seeking legal advice. To counter Allu Arjun’s claims, the police chief released minute-by-minute CCTV footage of the incident at Sandhya Theatre.

The footage, compiled into a 10-minute video after analyzing 1,000 clips, offers a detailed account of the events on December 4. Commissioner Anand explained, “The video was compiled to provide a clear account of what transpired.”

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized Allu Arjun during a recent assembly session for visiting the theatre without police permission and organizing a “roadshow” despite the stampede.

In response to the allegations, Allu Arjun addressed a press conference on the same day, stating that the allegations are false. He further expressed his dismay, saying he was hurt by the “character assassination.”
