The two-day national office-bearers conference of the BJP began on Monday at party headquarters in the nation’s capital, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, JP Nadda, and other prominent figures in attendance.

The party president greeted the prime minister as he arrived in the capital after casting his ballot in the Gujarat Assembly elections. The purpose of the gathering is to discuss the general election strategy for 2024.

Nadda will preside over this two-day gathering, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to virtually address the closing session on Tuesday, according to those in the know.

The meeting has been called, according to party sources, to discuss the strategy and preparations for the assembly elections in several states in 2023 and the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Also invited to the meeting are the national office holders of the party, the in-charge and co-in-charge of every state, the state presidents, and the organisation general secretaries of every state.

A senior BJP leader said, “in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2023 Vidhan Sabha elections, in the two-day meeting, information about the government’s achievements and strengthening the organisation will be shared. The functioning of the organisation will also be reviewed in the meeting.”

India’s G-20 presidency is seen as a significant accomplishment, and the party will also lay out programmes related to it to inform the public about the nation’s expanding global influence under PM Modi’s leadership, he added.
