Kejriwal Decries ‘Jungle Raj’ in Delhi, Calls for Immediate Action from Amit Shah

Arvind Kejriwal expressed concerns about safety in Delhi and called on Amit Shah to take swift action.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, stated on Sunday that a “jungle raj” prevails in the national capital, urging Union Home Minister Amit Shah to implement effective measures.

Kejriwal’s remarks followed three shooting incidents within a 24-hour period in Delhi. He posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Law and order has collapsed in Delhi. There is complete jungle raj. People are feeling unsafe in the country’s capital. Delhi’s law and order falls under Amit Shah ji’s purview, and he must take immediate action.”

In response to rising crime reports, AAP leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj noted that the Delhi lieutenant governor is currently abroad, while BJP MPs are notably absent.

Bharadwaj wrote on X, “The rise of gangs and gangsters in Delhi is alarming. There was a firing incident at Nangloi Sweet Shop, another at Naraina Car Showroom, and a jewelry heist worth three crores at Gulabi Bagh. Shots were also fired at a hotel in Mahipalpur. Meanwhile, the LG is on a foreign trip, and BJP MPs are missing.”

He urged the lieutenant governor to take action, alleging that he has obstructed the Delhi government’s efforts for the past two years and has failed to fulfill his responsibilities.

“I request you with folded hands to please take some action now. For the last two years, you have focused only on hindering the work of the Delhi Government while highlighting our shortcomings. However, you have completely neglected your responsibilities,” Bharadwaj added in another post.

The incidents of gunfire come shortly after an armed gang targeted a luxury car showroom in the capital. In one attack, unidentified shooters opened fire at the Impress Hotel in south Delhi’s Mahipalpur area early Saturday morning, around 2:30 AM.
