J-K: Anantnag Police attach house belonging to terror associate

In a significant move against terrorist activities, Anantnag Police on Thursday attached a two-storey residential building owned by terror associate Riyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Gh Nabi Bhat, resident of Lohar Senzi Gadole, officials said.

According to police, the attachment was executed under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, following confirmation from the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir.

The house is linked to FIR No. 109/2023, registered under Sections 307 IPC, 3/4 Explosive Substances Act, and sections 16, 18, 20, 38, and 39 of the UA(P) Act at PS Kokernag.

This action has reaffirmed the commitment of the Anantnag Police to combat terrorism and disrupt the support structures that enable these nefarious activities. By targeting the assets of terror associates, the authorities aim to undermine their ability to fund and facilitate terrorist operations.

Officials said that the attachment of the property is part of the ongoing efforts to choke the financial and logistical support for terrorist organisations and their enablers.
This operation sends a strong message that the law enforcement agencies will not relent in their pursuit of those who seek to undermine the peace and stability of the District, they added.
