Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has called on young Indians to apply for the 2022-23 National Youth Awards (NYA), a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional contributions to India’s growth and social progress. In his message to the youth, Mandaviya expressed admiration for the spirit and achievements of young Indians across fields like sports, social service, science, and research. “The awards,” he said, “are not merely accolades but a celebration of youth leadership in building a progressive and inclusive India.”

The National Youth Awards are conferred by the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and they celebrate young individuals aged 15 to 29 as well as organizations dedicated to meaningful community service. These awards cover contributions to health, human rights, active citizenship, and social work, and seek to inspire youth to excel in national development. They also aim to encourage a sense of community responsibility, honoring voluntary organizations that foster youth development and national progress.

Applications for the National Youth Award (2022-23) are open from November 1 to 15, 2024, and can be submitted through the Ministry of Home Affairs’ common award portal. The individual winners of the award receive a medal, certificate, and cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, while organizations awarded for their impact receive Rs 3,00,000.
