Union Home Minister Amit Shah is called the ‘ Chanakya’ of the BJP not without reason. Since the 2017 Uttar Pradesh elections, he has played the role of BJP’s chief strategist in every assembly and parliamentary election. He has formulated strategies to win each and every seat, infused energy into the party, and led BJP to one victory after another, winning state and national elections. He has justified through his consistent success the sobriquet ‘Chanakya’
Last year, during the assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra, many predicted BJP’s defeat. However, Amit Shah’s brilliant strategy and his relentless 24/7 dedication stunned everyone by ensuring BJP formed governments in both states. All exit polls had projected BJP’s loss, but when the results came out, everyone acknowledged Amit Shah’s strategic genius.
Shah’s Chessboard in Delhi
The BJP has been out of power in Delhi for the past 27 years. This time, Amit Shah has taken it upon himself to bring the party back to power in the national capital. He has crafted a powerful strategy for the Delhi Assembly elections, working with the same micro-management approach that succeeded in Haryana and Maharashtra. For all 70 assembly constituencies, leaders have been assigned responsibilities at three to five levels.
BJP leaders from other states have been stationed at each constituency with strict instructions not to leave their assigned areas until the elections conclude. A noteworthy example is senior leader P P Chaudhary, who had to leave his comfortable residence and live in a single-room accommodation in Mundka.
Amit Shah has delegated responsibilities at multiple levels—senior leaders have been assigned two constituencies each, while another tier of leaders has been entrusted with oversight across three to five constituencies.
Taking micro-management a step further, Amit Shah has deployed leaders from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Uttarakhand, and Punjab to campaign in areas with significant populations from these states. Their task is to establish deep connections with voters, even visiting homes individually.
In addition to micro-management, Amit Shah has implemented a social engineering strategy. BJP’s leaders from the Jat, Dalit, and OBC communities are actively reaching out to people from their respective groups, covering their neighbourhoods door-to-door.
To connect with various professional and social groups, Amit Shah has also directed the organization of conferences targeting traders, lawyers, government employees, and doctors.
Shah Personally Leads the Delhi Campaign
Amit Shah has taken direct command of the Delhi elections. He holds late-night discussions with BJP leaders from each constituency, devising strategies for the coming days. His approach involves continuously gathering updates, feedback, and adjusting plans accordingly.
Initially, BJP leaders in Delhi lacked unity before the elections. However, Amit Shah’s direct involvement has transformed the party into a cohesive team, working together for a common goal.
While BJP could have made grand promises in its election manifesto, Amit Shah issued clear instructions that only achievable commitments should be made. He emphasizes maintaining public trust in BJP’s promises and works tirelessly to uphold that confidence.
Two days ago, when Amit Shah held a roadshow in Amar Colony, Kalkaji, and Badarpur, a massive crowd gathered. The people of Delhi were thrilled to see the Union Home Minister among them. During his roadshow in Kasturba Nagar, Delhi Police had set up ropes on both sides of the road to control the crowd, but as soon as Amit Shah ascended his campaign vehicle, he first ordered the removal of the barriers, allowing people to come closer.
This gesture deeply resonated with the public and party workers, who danced and cheered alongside him throughout the roadshow. Some people welcomed him with flowers, while others showered him with currency notes. Women greeted him with folded hands, showing their respect.
Amit Shah’s election rallies across Delhi are drawing massive crowds. He himself states that this overwhelming public support tells the story—change in Delhi is inevitable this time.
Amit Shah has focused the entire Delhi Assembly election campaign on a single issue—calling out former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his lies and false promises. In a media interaction, Shah asserted that the people of Delhi no longer want deceit and have now learned the truth.
