In a shocking event reported from Telangana, a young girl, who was traveling with her family, was allegedly assaulted and raped by a fellow passenger inside a train’s restroom, the Government Railway Police (GRP) announced on Friday.
According to PTI, the incident took place on the morning of April 3, when the suspect, a man in his twenties, subjected the girl to severe sexual assault and rape. The girl was with her family members at that moment.
During the trip, the accused followed the girl to the restroom and attacked her inside it.A report has been filed at the Railway Police Station (RPS) in Telangana’s Secunderabad following a complaint. An investigation is currently in progress, the GRP added. When questioned if the suspect had been apprehended, a senior GRP official informed PTI that he was being interrogated at that time.
In a different event, a woman jumped from a train to evade an attempted rape
This dreadful incident follows another similar event that happened on March 22 when a 23-year-old woman was injured after leaping from a moving train to escape a man who reportedly tried to assault her.
The victim was traveling alone in the ladies’ coach of an MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) train from the Secunderabad railway station to Medchal when the incident occurred.
A report was filed, and efforts were initiated to locate the suspect, who had escaped.
“A man on the train assaulted a girl in her early 20s. To defend herself, she jumped from the moving train. She has acquired injuries and is receiving treatment at Gandhi Hospital. A report has been filed, and four special teams have been formed to locate the suspect,” Hyderabad SP North Zone Chandana Deepti informed PTI.
The victim mentioned that after two other female passengers traveling with her in the ladies’ coach had exited the train at Alwal railway station, an unknown man entered the coach.
