Haryana CM again Blames Kejriwal for Yamuna’s Dirty Water

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday visited the Yamuna Ghat in Wazirabad, Delhi and again accused former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of failing to clean the river while misleading the public with false claims. Saini alleged that Kejriwal had promised to clean the Yamuna but instead allowed it to become more polluted. “Now, to hide his failures, he is making baseless allegations,” he said.

The Haryana CM claimed that dirty water from Delhi was being released into the Yamuna, affecting both Delhi and Haryana. “People are being forced to drink this polluted water. Even after 10 years, Kejriwal has not been able to clean the river. He should apologize to the people of Delhi and Haryana,” Saini added.  Saini also responded to Kejriwal’s allegation that the Haryana government was “poisoning” Delhi’s water supply. He stated that the central government had given Rs 8,500 crore to build sewage treatment plants (STPs), but Kejriwal’s government had not completed the work.

“If Kejriwal is talking about mass genocide, he himself is responsible for it. He has not cleaned the Yamuna and is instead blaming others. The central government gave Rs 8,500 crore to build an STP, but it was not constructed. Meanwhile, Kejriwal used Rs 15 crore to build an STP in his Sheesh Mahal,” Saini alleged.   To prove his point, CM Saini brought two jars of Yamuna water—one collected from the Delhi-Haryana border at Palla Ghat and another from Wazirabad in Delhi. He claimed there was a significant difference in water quality, blaming Kejriwal’s government for the pollution.  Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal responded to the allegations by congratulating the people of Delhi for their “struggle” against polluted water. Taking to social media platform X, he claimed that ammonia levels in Delhi’s water supply had reduced, suggesting that efforts to improve water quality were showing results.
