Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde expressed condolences on the demise of former Foreign Minister K. Natwar Singh. He has prayed to God for peace of the departed soul and strength to his family to bear this grief.

Bagde said that he did great work as the Foreign Minister of India and as a thinker and writer. He was an intellectual politician. His death is an irreparable loss.

Speaker Vasudev Devnani also expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Natwar Singh. Devnani remarked, “The news of the demise of senior politician and former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh is deeply saddening. His departure is an irreparable loss to the political world. I pray to God to grant peace to his noble soul and give strength to his family and supporters in this time of immense sorrow.”

Former Foreign Minister Kunwar Natwar Singh died in Gurugram last night. He was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for the past several days. Born in Jaghina village of Bharatpur district, Natwar Singh had a special attachment to his village. His last wish was to merge with the soil of his village. He had expressed this wish during the funeral of his brother. Former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh, who brought fame to Bharatpur in the country and the world, has been the leader of politics for a long time.
Family members of former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh said that he had a special attachment to the village. Even today his family members live in the village. In the year 2009, Natwar Singh’s brother Bhagwat Singh died.

At that time Natwar Singh had reached village Jaghina for his funeral and had expressed his wish to the family that after his death his last rites should also be performed in the village. He used to visit the village on village functions and special occasions. Earlier the Parikrama Marg of the village was unpaved, which was paved by former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh. He contributed a lot to the village.

Even today the identity of the village is because of him. Family members said that whenever he came to the village, he used to teach the youth to acquire knowledge of a foreign language i.e. English.

Kunwar Natwar Singh was born on 16 May 1929 in Jaghina village of Bharatpur district. Natwar Singh was the fourth son of his father Govind Singh and mother Prayag Kaur. He received education from Mayo College Ajmer and Scindia School Gwalior. After that he did his graduation from Stephens College, Delhi. He studied at Corpus Christi College of Cambridge University and was a visiting scholar at Peking University in China. Natwar Singh served in many countries. In the year 1953, Natwar Singh was selected in the Indian Foreign Service. He served in countries like China, New York, Poland, England, Pakistan, Jamaica, Zambia etc. Kumar Natwar Singh resigned from the Indian Foreign Service in the year 1984 and joined the Congress. He contested the eighth Lok Sabha election in the year 1984 and became a Minister of State after winning.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also expressed their sentiments on Sunday over the passing of former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh. In a message on social media platform CM Sharma described the news as “very sad” and prayed for Lord Shri Ram to grant peace to Singh’s soul and strength to his bereaved family.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also paid tribute, expressing his condolences on social media. He offered prayers for the peace of the departed soul and for the family’s strength during this difficult time.
