On November 25, 2024, President Droupadi Murmu received the credentials from the ambassadors of Ethiopia, Japan, Korea, and Romania, along with the High Commissioner of Grenada. The ceremony took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

The diplomats who presented their credentials to President Murmu were:

  • Fesseha Shawel Gebre, Ambassador of Ethiopia

Upcoming Event: Samvidhan Divas (Constitution Day)

The credentials ceremony comes just before the celebration of ‘Samvidhan Divas’ (Constitution Day) on November 26. On this occasion, President Murmu will address the members of both Houses of Parliament in the Central Hall. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other dignitaries will also be present.

Key Highlights of Constitution Day

During the event, a commemorative coin and stamp marking the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution’s adoption will be released. Two books, “Making of the Constitution of India: A Glimpse” and “Making of the Constitution of India and Its Glorious Journey,” will be unveiled. Additionally, a booklet on the art of the Constitution and versions in Sanskrit and Maithili will be released, along with a short film highlighting the Constitution’s journey.

This event marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption of India’s Constitution by the Constituent Assembly in 1949, which came into effect on January 26, 1950.
