Kashmir: – In a significant development in the ongoing Baramulla human trafficking case, police have arrested two additional suspects and rescued three more minors. The case, filed under FIR No. 173/2024 at PS Baramulla, has seen a concerted effort by law enforcement to dismantle a trafficking network exploiting minors from outside the Union Territory.

According to a statement from the Baramulla police to The Daily Guardian, further investigation led to the arrest of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, son of Ab Rehman from Narbal, and Manzoor Ahmad Shah, son of Gh Mohammad from Janbazpora. These individuals were implicated in the trafficking and exploitation of young girls, predominantly minors from Rohingya, Burma.

A police team from Police Station Baramulla, led by SHO PS Baramulla and supervised by DySP Headquarters Baramulla, apprehended the accused. The operation also resulted in the rescue of three minor girls, who have been identified as victims of trafficking.

This recent success follows the initial phase of the investigation, during which two other suspects from Baramulla were arrested and four minor girls were rescued.

The Baramulla Police’s diligent efforts highlight their unwavering commitment to fighting human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
