Badrinath Landslide Aftermath: National Highway Reopens For Traffic

Badrinath national highway which was blocked due to heavy landslide in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand has been restored after a lot of efforts on Thursday. This action was taken after observing hours of traffic being stuck at Bhanerpani.

On Wednesday, due to a major landslide the road was blocked from the hill near Patel Ganga Langsi tunnel on the Badrinath. Chamoli police explained, debris near Angthala in the jotwali chamoli area led to the highway being blocked. The incident was reported around 6:54 AM.

Uttarakhand police posted on X (formerly Twitter) “The blocked badrinath national highway near bhanerpani in chamoli has opened for traffic,”

Heavy monsoon rain caused a lot of trouble in various parts of uttarakhand resulting in landslides in the hills as well as the blockage in the highway to Badrinath. Movements which were haltered earlier on July 5, 2024, on the badrinath national highway, reportedly resumed on Thursday.
