Amit Shah Celebrates 75 Years of Hindi as Official Language, Launches ‘Bhartiya Bhasha Anubhag’ on Hindi Diwas

Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on Saturday. Marking the 75th anniversary of Hindi as the country’s official language, Shah took to social media platform X, highlighting the importance of all Indian languages as integral to the nation’s pride and heritage.

“All Indian languages are our pride and heritage, and without enriching them, we cannot progress. The official language, Hindi, shares an unbreakable bond with every Indian language. This year, Hindi completes 75 years of being a medium for public communication and national unity as the country’s official language. I am confident that, together with all Indian languages, Hindi will continue to contribute to the vision of a developed India,” Shah posted in Hindi.

In addition, the Union Minister will be inaugurating the ‘Bhartiya Bhasha Anubhag’ on Saturday, aimed at promoting the use of Indian languages alongside Hindi and fostering better coordination between them. This inauguration will take place during the official language Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the 4th Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan, organized by the Department of Official Language on September 14-15 in New Delhi to mark Hindi Diwas.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the establishment of the Bharatiya Bhasha Anubhag aligns with the Constitution’s intent and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to promote the use of Indian languages. Under Amit Shah’s guidance, the Official Language Department of the MHA has been organizing the Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan annually since 2021.

Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on September 14 to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as one of the nation’s official languages.
