BJP’s Amit Malviya Sues Bengal Man For Rs 10 Crore For Accusing Him Of Sexual Exploitation

BJP leader and IT cell chief Amit Malviya has filed a defamation suit against Santanu Sinha, who claimed to be an RSS activist, for alleging Malviya’s involvement in sexual exploitation of women. The suit, filed on Monday, seeks Rs 10 crore in damages and demands the removal of Sinha’s “false and derogatory” social media post.

“The nature of allegations is extremely offensive as they falsely accuse my client of sexual misconduct. These claims are severely damaging to my client’s dignity and reputation, given his public profile,” the legal notice states. RSS sources have clarified that Sinha has no official ties with the organization.

In a social media post, Sinha accused Malviya of sexual harassment while in West Bengal. However, Sinha told India Today, “I am not directly accusing Amit Malviya of misconduct. I have raised a question about whether Bengal leaders maintain their positions by facilitating such acts for leaders like Malviya. Similar incidents have happened before in Bengal.”

The Congress party has demanded immediate action against Malviya. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate stated, “An RSS member, Santanu Sinha, related to BJP leader Rahul Sinha, has accused Amit Malviya of sexual exploitation. These allegations are serious and call for justice for women.”

Shrinate urged the BJP to remove Malviya from his post to allow an unbiased investigation into the allegations. “Given the gravity of the accusations and Malviya’s influential position, we demand his immediate removal,” she said.
