Amarnath Yatra: Offline Registration Starts Today, Check Details

For the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra, Offline registration has opened, which starts on June 29 and will end on August 19, 2024.

As per sub-divisional Magistrate of South Jammu, he has confirmed that the registration has started on Wednesday. Tokens are being given to pilgrims.

‘We have started our offline registrations here at the Saraswati Dham. The registrations are being done based on the Aadhar Cards after which the pilgrims are being given tokens after which they have to go to the registration centers.’ said SDM Manu Hansa.

The three registration centres for the Yatra are located in Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Hall and Panchayat Bhavan.

As per SDM, they have already received 1000 registrations for June 29 visit. But however, there are some conditions to be fulfilled.

The pilgrim, who is below the age of 13 or above the age of 70 and ladies who are more than 6 weeks pregnant will not be allowed.

In addition, the yatris should also possess health certificate or if they don’t have the certificate, they can get their check-up done during the registration and can get the health certificate.

Furthermore, the daily quota of pilgrims will also be published by Sri Amarnath Shrine board. The official has recently announced, they are aiming to complete around 2,000 registrations. But those who have already registered online, do not have to visit the centre.

Also, the help desks have also been established in the waiting area, which consists of six token centres, water filter and a dining hall. These facilities have been established to ensure smooth process of registration.

Coming to the security front, Udhampur Deputy commissioner Saloni Rai said, that security arrangements are being made properly. As a part of security measure, additional deployment has been established along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

Around 26 accommodations centres have been established for 6000 pilgrims. Nodal officers have also been appointed at accommodations centres to ensure smooth preparation.

For further registration purposes, the arrangements for E-KYC centres have been established at railway stations.

Documents Needed For Amarnath Yatra Registration

In order to register for Amarnath Yatra, there are two ways- First, get Yatra Permit from approved banks and registration centres

Second for offline registration, visit designated banks with mandatory documents such as Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) and with authentic identity proof and photographs.

During the yatra essential documents like Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, etc., is mandatory for identity check.

As for online registration, you can acquire the form from Amarnath Shrine Board website and attach mandatory documents, which also include Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued on or after the specific date by authorized doctor and medical institution.

Amarnath is one of Major dhams of Hindu Religion and the holy cave is an abode of Lord Shiva. As per information given by Amarnath Shrine Board, the original pilgrimage instructs, that the yatra should start from Srinagar, but usually, the yatra starts from Chandanwari, as it covers the distance in 5 days.
