Mishra’s post, shared last month, initially puzzled many due to its seemingly harsh terms. The job listing outlined several “perks,” such as no salary and no joining gifts or elaborate office setups, reflecting a frugal approach to business operations. Mishra noted that the company aims to disrupt the energy sector with its AI-driven innovations, emphasizing the importance of long-term commitment and genuine passion for the field.
The post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions on platforms like Reddit and LinkedIn. Users expressed a range of responses, from confusion over the legality of such a job offer to speculation about whether the listing was a joke. Comments ranged from “I’m confused how this is not illegal” to “I literally demand this be satire.”
In response to the viral reaction, Shubham Mishra clarified that the job posting contained an element of satire. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he explained, “The goal was to filter out non-relevant candidates. We are building a company for the long term and seek individuals who are committed to growing with us.”
