4-member committee submits report on post-poll violence in West Bengal

The four-member committee appointed by BJP president JP Nadda to probe incidents of post-poll violence in West Bengal, submitted its report on Friday .

The central fact-finding team comprised party Lok Sabha member and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb, former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, former director-general of police of Uttar Pradesh and current Rajya Sabha member Brijlal and the party’s member of the Upper House in Parliament, Kabita Patidar.

In a statement, Nadda said: “Received the report from the BJP Fact Finding Team, constituted to inquire about the grave incidents of violence against the people and BJP Karyakartas in West Bengal following the Lok Sabha elections.

“The State Government has become a mute spectator to deliberate acts of violence against innocent people. CM Mamata Banerjee must be held accountable for her negligence and inaction. Our party stands united with the people of West Bengal and will continue to voice their concerns democratically.”
