Nityanand Rai, the Union Minister for State Home Affairs, informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply on Tuesday that there have been 1,532 cases of suicides among CAPFS, Assam Rifles, and National Security Guard (NSG) personnel since 2011.
In a written response to Lok Sabha Member Hanuman Beniwal’s inquiry regarding the total number of suicides by members of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) since 2011, MoS Home Nityanand Rai statedthat there have been 1,532 suicides by members of the CAPFS, Assam Rifles (AR), and National Security Guard (NSG) since 2011. He also informed the Lower House regarding the issue of whether the government is aware of any cases involving harassment by the system and stated.
