Ousted Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested in a corruption case that resulted in widespread protests, and Imran Khan’s lawyers claim there was a plot to kill him in prison. According to his lawyers, he was tortured and had insulin injected into his food to cause a heart attack.

The former cricketer-turned-politician, who leads the opposition Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf party, claimed he was not allowed to use washroom and given an injection to cause a gradual heart attack. His lawyers claimed that he also complained of chest pains during his meeting with him.

The Pakistan Supreme Court has deemed Mr Khan’s arrest on Tuesday “illegal” and ordered his immediate release.

He is in the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

He claimed that he was forbidden from sleeping. He was held in an unclean space that lacked a bed or toilet. Since he was carried to the police lines at 3 am, he hasn’t had anything to eat, according to what his lawyers informed the media.

They claimed that Mr Khan, a former cricket star who is still well-liked in Pakistan, urged people to continue the fight to re-establish the rule of law.

Over a month has passed since Pakistani minister Rana Sanaullah allegedly declared that “either Imran Khan or us will get murdered.” Additionally, Mr Khan survived a gun attack at a rally last November.

The Supreme Court yesterday lashed out Mr Khan’s arrest and stated that a person can’t be arrested from the court premises with the nod of the registrar.
