Amidst the ongoing heatwave in the southern state, the India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Kerala’s Palakkad district.

According to IMD, several districts of Kerala are expected to experience high temperatures ranging from 30 to 40 degrees from April 30th to May 4th. Palakkad will witness a maximum temperature of 41 degrees, while in Thrissur, it will be around 40 degrees.

Maximum temperatures in the range of 37-39 degrees are expected in several districts including Kozhikode, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Kannur, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kasaragod, and Malappuram.

In addition, the IMD further announced that these districts of the state will experience hot & humid weather except hilly areas.

The conditions of heat wave will likely prevail in one or two places of Alappuzha, Thrissur and Kozhikode districts from April 30th to May 4th.

As for Palakkad, there is a high chance of heatwave continuing in some areas of the district.
