New Delhi: The Indian Medical Association (IMA), which has the largest number of registered doctors, has said that it is ready to contribute to the government’s vaccination programme. The IMA is ready to spare its expertise and manpower, right from the district level to the national level, for various expert committees for vaccination.

“Current priority will be to protect healthcare workers and those at high risk to mitigate the public health and economic impacts of the pandemic,” said Dr Jayalal, President of the IMA.

The government has started collecting data for healthcare professionals across the country to be considered for the first phase of the vaccination. The IMA has come forward to help the government with compiling the data by appointing nodal officers at each of its branches. IMA, which has branches even in rural and semi-urban areas, is ready to provide human resources and training and campaign for creating awareness among the public.
