The illegal hotel owned by suspended BJP leader Mishri Chand Gupta in Sagar city was demolished on Tuesday by the district government of Madhya Pradesh. The BJP leader is accused of killing Jagdish Yadav on December 22 by running him over with his SUV.

It is reported that a special team from Indore blasted 60 dynamites to demolish the hotel – Jairam Palace. In a video shared by the news agency ANI, the hotel can be seen turning into rubble and dense smoke formed within seconds.

According to Sagar District Collector Deepak Arya, the traffic was stopped by placing barricades around the intersection during the time of demolition in view of safety. “People living in the buildings around the hotel were also alerted. There has been no loss of any kind. Only the building was demolished,” he added, as quoted by ANI.

Mishri Chand Gupta, a BJP official, and members of his family are accused of killing Jagdish Yadav on December 22 with an SUV when he was working at a dairy farm near the Makronia crossroads. Five of the eight accused in the case who were named in the police’s murder complaint have been taken into custody. The BJP leader is still absconding, though.

Notably, Jagdish Yadav was the nephew of Kiran Yadav, an independent councillor, who had defeated Meena Gupta, the wife of Mishri Chand Gupta, by 83 votes in the civic body elections.

According to some reports, Yadav was killed apparently because of enmity.
