Naveen Jain an IAS officer of 2001-batch from Rajasthan cadre who is currently SECRETARY TO GOVERNMENT, PLANNING, STATISTICS DEPARTMENT, RAJASTHAN.

As he was serving as district Magistrate of Baran, Karauli, Hanumagarh and Rajsamand. And he has also served as a Director/Commissioner in different departments at Secretariat or Directorate.

A notable campaign, ‘Daughters are Precious’, stands as a testament to his commitment to combating gender bias and eradicating the abhorrent practice of female feticide.

Beyond law enforcement, Naveen Jain’s role extends to development planning and execution, crucial for socio-economic progress. Recognizing the pressing need to address gender discrimination, he spearheaded initiatives aimed at saving daughters and dismantling societal norms that devalue the girl child. In regions plagued by gender bias, such as Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, he confronted deeply entrenched prejudices head-on.

His efforts were multifaceted, targeting both the root causes and manifestations of gender discrimination. Naveen Jain says that being posted at different locations helped him to understand the diversity and the challenges that come with it. He tried to do justice to whichever department he was posted. With his innovations he was able to bring about change in the lives of people. He made sure that awareness should be brought in society so that people are able to live a life of dignity.

Besides being an IAS officer he has understood the value of human life and believes that, it is not necessary to hold any office in order to do anything good for the society.
He feels that today the youth has a lot of opportunities and platforms so everyone should do their bit to make this world a better pace to live in. it’s not in the comfort but thinking out of box and execution that makes a person’s life worthwhile.

Social Media: To do or not to do
Social media has become a menace for many these days. but Naveen Jain says that one can never avoid or escape social media. He feels that one cannot reach everywhere but social media has reach to the last person in the row. Today anyone can access social media at click of the button. So it should be used with discretion. Besides it should be used as a tool to bring about change, spread messages that are useful for the society and spread his message effectively. He says that even if one individual is able to change his life and feel motivated it can bring about a positive change. He said that nothing should be restricted rather the children should be told, explained and given a perspective so that they can understand what is useful and what might just squander their time and energy.

I WILL DO SOMETHING: WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY
IAS Naveen Jain says that where there is a will there is a way. Whenever you decide a purpose of your life and go ahead you don’t really need any position, power or back up.
Reminiscing, his initiative of ‘GOOD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH’ called ‘SPARSH’; he said that when he heard about the incidents of young girls being touched inappropriately and being raped he decided to make children and families aware so that they could raise their voice against this injustice. He developed effective systems to keep a check on such activities and saw a considerable change. Small girls started telling their families if they felt or experienced something like this. Additionally, he extensively used social media without asking for any fund or resource and made sure that it can reach out to as many schools in even the remotest corner of the state. He successfully was able to conduct 6000 sessions in 3500 schools. Even during the pandemic he used social media as a tool for education.

EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINNING
Naveen Jain’s ideology is that if one has a lot of resistance around, lot of obstacles and people who don’t want him to progress and do something for betterment he should be happy as this denotes that he is on the right path. The mechanism to handle such people he suggests is to understand whether it is an opportunity or a Challenge as both help to grow, evolve and be more solution oriented. He believes that being around such negative people actually equated to being NORMAL he says that if you have no challenge or problem and life seems to a bed of roses, consider this to a warning as nothing can be impeccable.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS
Naveen Jain has also led various e-initiatives as Mission Director, National Health Mission in Rajasthan such as ASHA Soft and e-shubhlaxmi. He also had a hand in Software for Malnutrition Treatment Center – Kuposhan Watch, e-upkaran (Equipment management & Maintenance System).

He received National Award for Creation of “ASHA SOFT” for Direct Benefit Transfer of the initiatives in the bank account of 50000 female workers.

He was awarded by the Vice President for the Health Initiative taken, leading to reduced MMR, lesser IMR and better Child Sex ratio.

Apart from this he brought a major breakthrough with the implementation of PCPNDT Act in the state and conducted over 110 decoy operations; thereby bringing a significant impact.
