The issue of the release of former Bihar MP Anand Mohan reached the Supreme Court. IAS G Krishnaiah’s wife filed a petition against the release of Anand Mohan. She challenged the release of convict Anand Mohan. Uma Krishnaiah, wife of slain Magistrate G Krishnaiah of Gopalganj, demanded that Anand Mohan must be sent back to jail. Uma has also demanded cancellation of notification of change in rules of Bihar government.
Anand Mohan Singh was serving a life sentence for the 1994 murder of young IAS officer G Krishnaiah, a district magistrate in Gopalganj, during the burial procession of gangster Chotan Shukla from Muzaffarpur. A crowd believed to have been incited by Anand Mohan Singh assassinated Krishnaiah.
