As the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has started tightening the noose around the corrupt bureaucrats in Haryana, it has caused resentment among the IAS lobby.
IAS officer Dharmendra Singh has already been arrested by the police in an old corruption case. It is alleged that he had taken a bribe of more than one crore rupees in lieu of awarding the government contract. Earlier, another IAS officer, Vijay Dahiya, who was holding the charge of commissioner of Haryana Kaushal Mission, was booked under the corruption charges. The IAS lobby is upset with the functioning of the ACB, stating that the way the ACB is taking action against the IAS officials is entirely the breach of the norms. Several IAS official are accusing the ACB of taking unilateral action against them which is a matter of serious concern.
In past, the ACB has taken action against more than 20 IPS and 30 Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers. A senior IAS officer, D. Suresh, has filed a complaint recently against ACB to the state Chief Secretary and DGP.
An Additional Chief Secretary level officer said on condition of anonymity that taking action against a senior IAS official requires a certain set of rules and procedures. Further, he said that following pick and choose policy, all the norms are being putting aside while taking action against an IAS officer. At the same time, it has also come to the fore that the Haryana State Police Authority (HSPA) is receiving complaints against the senior police officers on a large scale.
The IAS lobby is also seeking similar action against IPS officers who are indulged in corruption cases. In the whole matter, the opinion of the IPS officials is entirely contrary to the IAS officers. While reacting, an ADGP rank official said that such allegations are false as the ACB refrained itself from taking arbitrary action against any official.
The three officials, who are facing the investigation in Municipal Corporation, Faridabad scam, are Mohmmad Shine, Anita Yadav and Sonal Goyal. Apart from these, Vijay Dahiya and Dharmendra Singh have already been booked under
corruption charges.
